James D. Harris is the Grimes County Democratic Party Chair. He has been extremely active in the Grimes County, Navasota community for many years. The Grimes County Democratic Party now meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Progressive Outreach Center located at 615 W Virginia St, Navasota, Texas, 77868.

New Precinct Chairs

Precinct Chairs were appointed during the June 12th meeting. They will be sworn in at the July 10th General meeting, "Dinner with the Democrats",  which will also host local Democratic candidates.

There are 15 precincts: We have 9 positions to fill. Be progressive: Help your county, your state and the nation move together as one.

The  job as a precinct chair is very important: Get the vote out, get people registered to vote, and plan and execute precinct meetings in your precinct. You also may attend the party's State Convention to cast your vote, network, and become part of the grassroots effort that is critical to our nation.

The Texas Secretary of State: There is no fee to file as a county chair or as a precinct chair in a party primary. The candidates during this time must meet requirements of the Democratic Party and deadlines must be met to be placed on the Democratic Ballot.
